The Greatest Game, The Yankees, the Red Sox, and the Playoff of '78 by Richard Bradley

During the first 83 pages of the book, the narrator discusses the oldest rivalry in sports between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. These two teams are very prestigious baseball teams and both have a tradition of winning even though the Red Sox had a very long world series drought and the Yankees hadn't been in the Fall Classic for over a decade. The narrator discusses how the two teams came to be with the players and managers that are now on their team. The two teams both had a great season and were competing for the last spot in the playoffs, the winner of the american league east, in a one game playoff. Their hadn't been a one game playoff like this for over thirty years and this was happening between the biggest rivalry and the two best teams in baseball that year. Many people in the baseball world thought that the winner of this game was going to win the world series. This is one of the most known games in all of baseball and the people that do enjoy baseball know everything about this year. I look forward to continue reading this spellbinding book.
